Tokyo, Japan – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) served more Filipino Professionals as part of its "Asia Pacific Project 2024" in Tokyo, Japan, through a foreign mobile service where PRC frontline services were delivered. This initiative was in conjunction with the ARTA Caravan in line with the 2024 Philippine Festival, which took place last December 7-8 at Yoyogi Park, Tokyo.

The ARTA Caravan, similar to the Multi-Agency Service Mission (MASM) in Australia and Thailand, is a significant event that provides vital Philippine government frontline services, bringing them closer to the Filipino community in Japan. Through foreign mobile service, the PRC ensures that Filipinos living and working in Japan will have easy access to essential assistance related to professional development and regulatory needs.

During the two-day event, PRC officials were able to directly engage with the Filipino movement, addressing their concerns and providing necessary services for professionals seeking licensure, renewal of licenses, certifications, and information about regulations governing their respective professions. The PRC also held a series of interviews and a separate meeting with stakeholders in the Filipino community, allowing discussions on professional recognition, mobility, and other concerns and challenges encountered by Filipino professionals in Japan. These discussions are essential components of the PRC’s mission to ensure that the voices and concerns of overseas Filipino workers and professionals are heard and that their qualifications are also aligned and recognized in the country where they practice their professions.

The successful conduct of the 2024 Asia Pacific Project was evident as more Filipino Professionals hope that the PRC Foreign Mobile Service becomes a regular service in Japan.

As part of the Philippine government's broader efforts to improve the ease of doing business and eliminate bureaucratic red tape, the PRC took proactive steps to address concerns and streamline processes. PRC ensured that participants' inquiries regarding professional licensing, qualifications, and regulatory requirements were promptly addressed, underscoring its commitment to serving Filipino professionals abroad and simplifying access to essential services.
