Celebrating PRC’s Golden Years of Professionalism and Global Excellence “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” — Lao Tzu
MANILA, PHILIPPINES - Today, this Lao Tzu influential line correlated to the grand opening day of the 50th Founding Anniversary and the 2023 Professional Regulation Week of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) with a theme: "PRC @50: Celebrating Milestones of Professional Excellence and Global Recognition. Bold at Gold." Today, it presented to everyone the further thousands and miles of steps PRC shares synergically with the public and our future professionals. As we begin the week-long celebration, the entire grounds of the Commission had received resonating sounds from the Band Exhibition. On one part, the Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony of the much-awaited unveiling of the mural and marker had been witnessed by several PRC personnel, guests, and participants of the event. Since the activities were in a hybrid setup, all Regional Offices and audiences simultaneously attended virtually.
Giving grace and honor to our diverse faith and spiritual obligations, an Interfaith Thanksgiving and a Eucharistic Mass were held. Further, to give recognition and acknowledgment to this momentous event, the Commission had: National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCAA) Chair, Hon. Victorino M. Manalo as represented by NCCA Deputy Executive Director Bernan Joseph Corpuz; Manila City Vice-Mayor Hon. John Marvin “Yul Servo” C. Nieto as represented by the Secretary to the Vice-Mayor, Atty. Jerry Samson; and Manila City Mayor, Hon. Maria Sheilah Honrado Lacuna – Pangan. Moreover, providing exemplary pleasures to everyone’s ears, the Office of the President Chorale rendered a number of songs to give more flavor to the occasion.
As part of Hon. Lacuna-Pangan’s Inspirational Message, she significantly appreciates PRC for her Professional Identification Card, for she is part of the PRC as we all know that she is a registered Medical Doctor by profession. For her, the Card represents the high standards of her chosen profession. These standards and qualifications have made not just her but also the professionals motivated and updated with the modern and latest innovations of their respective professions. Further, she thanked and valued PRC for being the instrument of the Filipino people in ensuring and giving the nation a reliable, trusted, and evolving system to validate and warrant the needed skills, knowledge, and capacity of the profession. With this, Mayor Honey Lacuna expressed how PRC guided her to become more conscientious in the practice of her profession.
Consequently, the PRC Marker and mural unveiling transferred during this day that showcased PRC’s golden history and its bold aspirations for the future. It is hoped that this will inspire the next generation of Filipino professionals and will continue the framed legacy of the Commission.
As Hon. Charito A. Zamora officially opened and declared the 50th PRC Anniversary and PRC Regulation Week, she reiterated that for five decades PRC has aimed for ethical conduct and practice, integrity of licensure examination for aspiring professionals. Fifty years is not an easy task. It takes a unified and full force of individuals to accomplish this milestone. As such, she reminded everyone of Helen Keller’s line: “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”
With such a grandeur opening, everyone is looking forward to the next days of activities of the Commission. Thus, everyone is enjoined to participate and witness the celebration through these series of activities: Medical Mission, Gender and Development (GAD) Program, Health and Wellness, Livelihood Programs, Tree Planting, Family Day, and Bloodletting Activity to name a few.
Truly this day, the Commission regenerates and persistently withstands with its commitment to fulfilling its mandate within the bounds of good governance and excellent public service. As it confidently marks its golden years of existence, PRC continues to shine and serve as a beacon of experienced light toward professionalism and dedication to public service in the next fifty years and beyond.
