In a collaborative breakthrough between the Professional Regulation Commission-Regional Office XIII (PRC-RO XIII) and the Department of Education (DepEd) – Caraga, a convergence initiative was recently conducted to provide essential professional services to the educators and various professionals in Sitio Kapihan, Socorro, Surigao del Norte on April 11 to 13, 2024.

The mobile service accommodated various professionals and availed of PRC services, to wit: 25 clients for initial registration, 231 for PIC renewal, 4 for PIC duplicate, 599 requests for certification and authentication, 7 applications for petition for change of status, and provision of technical assistance for various transactions.  In addition, the PRC-RO XIII also conducted an Adopt-A-School/Community program for Socorro Bayanihan Services, Inc. (SBSI), a community based in Sitio Kapihan, Socorro, Surigao del Norte, which is the recipient community for the said donation drive.

The success of the PRC mobile service in Socorro serves as a testament to the impact of the collaborative efforts of the Commission and DepEd, in ensuring accessibility, promoting inclusivity in professional development, and empowering professionals in remote communities. This endeavor also stands as a shining example of the power of collaboration and the profound impact it can bring to the lives of various professionals in remote areas, and the general public as a whole.
